There is no doubt that attending
graduate school can be costly. But a graduate education is an investment in your
future. Studies have shown that individuals with graduate degrees have greater
access to the job market and consistently earn more than their counterparts with only a
baccalaureate degree. Graduate education at Temple University is the key to your
personal and professional success and can make a major contribution to your economic
prosperity and quality of life. The investment you make today in your graduate
studies will return to you in many ways. You may have options available to you concerning the financing of your graduate education. Many corporations offer tuition reimbursement for work-related academic advancement. Most banks offer very low financing for |

educational loans. Some philanthropies offer scholarships for study in particular areas. Both the Federal govermnent and the state of Pennsylvania, through loan programs, can subsidize the interest costs of an educational loan while you are in graduate school. |
The largest form of aid offered through Temple University is graduate assistantships. Currently, there are over 1,000 students who receive both tuition remission and a stipend in exchange for approximately twenty hours of work per week within the university. Assistantships are awarded by individual academic or administrative departments. Temple also offers fellowships, which are awarded on a university-wide competitive basis. These awards carry full tuition and a significant stipend and are intended primarily for the support of doctoral students. |
