0341. Teaching Language and Communication in the Secondary Schools (3 s.h.) F

Prerequisite or co-requisite: Courses that fulfill program competencies in language and literature. Must be admitted to the Certification Program.

An introduction to instructional approaches and materials used in developing teaching strategies for language learning, language development, communication skill improvement, language description, and teaching the communication process and literature.

0342. Teaching Oral and Written Communication in the Secondary Schools (3 s.h.) S

Prerequisite or co-requisite: Courses that fulfill program competencies in oral and written communication. Must be admitted to the Certification Program.

Instructional approaches and materials used in the teaching of oral and written communication. The teaching of oral and written composition, listening and observation skills; syntactic analysis, discourse analysis, and assessment of oral and written composition.
