Fee: Include a fee of $60 for the online application.
Process: Submit an application online with the Communication Sciences and Disorders Centralized Application Service (CSDCAS) as well as Temple’s online system. To apply you should have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Applicants from any undergraduate major are welcome to apply.
References: You’ll need three letters of reference, two of which should be from former professors who can speak to your academic or clinical abilities.
Goals statement: Write a 500- to 1,000-word statement that addresses the two prompts on the CSDCAS application and describes your academic and personal preparation; interest in the field; career goals; and how you imagine the Speech, Language and Hearing Science MA will help you to achieve those goals.
Prerequisite courses: There are a number of prerequisite courses for the program, but you can take them in the first year of graduate study if you did not take them during your undergraduate degree. These include Research Methods in Communication Science and Human Neuroscience, among others. See Temple’s graduate bulletin for a full list.
GRE scores: Your scores on the verbal and quantitative sections should fall at or above the 50th percentile.
