With an increased need for foreign language teachers in elementary schools, the World and Foreign Languages Education concentration allows graduates to pursue teaching positions in grades kindergarten through 12.

Temple Teacher Residency Program

If you are interested in gaining certification, you can explore the Temple Teacher Residency program. This is an innovative urban STEM teacher education program that provides simultaneous school-based teaching experience and graduate education to individuals who are committed to becoming science and math teachers in Philadelphia’s high-need secondary and middle schools. Through this accelerated one-year master’s program, you'll receive financial support while teaching collaboratively with an experienced mentor for a full academic year in a middle or high school school classroom in an urban public school.

Field Experience & Student Teaching 

As part of your academic program, you will gain firsthand knowledge in classrooms through immersive field placements and student teaching experiences.

    Voluntary Internships 

    Internships give you opportunities to gain hands-on experience, refine your understanding of your coursework and make professional contacts who can assist your future career development. Internships are voluntary experiences that take place outside of the program curriculum: students do not receive credit for internships.
