Research Project Opportunity
Each student completes a doctoral project guided by a faculty mentor. A different aspect of the doctoral project is developed each semester, culminating in a project implementation and analysis in the last semester.
Occupational therapy is one of the fastest-growing professions in the U.S. As our population ages and our healthcare system changes, occupational therapists are more critical than ever in many different areas of occupation noted by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Many graduates use their Temple OTD degree to move into leadership and higher education teaching positions. Other graduates of the doctoral program advance in the occupational therapy field to become clinical specialists, program developers and clinical educators.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 27 percent growth in occupational therapy from 2014 to 2024, a much higher figure than the average projected for all professions, which is about 7 percent.
