Process: Submit an application via Temple’s online system. To apply, you must have the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution. Specializations may have more specific prerequisite course requirements: check their pages for details.
- Bachelor's Degree in Discipline or Related Discipline: All applicants must present credentials that are the equivalent of the appropriate baccalaureate degree at Temple University.
- Integrative Exercise Physiology: It is preferred that applicants have completed laboratory courses in biology, chemistry, human anatomy and physiology, and physics.

Recommendations: Submit the names and contact information of two professional references who can speak to your academic competence and/or professional skills and your aptitude for graduate study. These are usually professors or immediate work supervisors.
Goals statement: Write a well considered statement of one to two pages expressing your goals and interests in the program.
Writing Sample: The topic for your writing sample can be anything relevant to kinesiology.
GRE score: Scores of 150 on both the verbal and math sections are preferred. Exceptions may be made if a student’s undergraduate work and experiences predict success in the program.
Current résumé, which should include the applicant’s GRE score, undergraduate GPA and relevant clinical and research experience.
An interview is required. Applicants can interview by telephone or video if an on-campus meeting is difficult to arrange.
Additional: If you’ve completed the master’s degree, you can receive advanced standing toward the PhD. You can gain up to 9 advanced standing credits.
