Email Tutoring will close Monday June 29th at 4:00 p.m. It will reopen on Monday July 21st.

Not sure if e-mail tutoring is right for you?
Check out our guide to Getting the Most Out of E-mail Tutoring.

Be sure to check your e-mail immediately after submitting your e-mail tutoring session.
The e-mail tutoring service closes when we reach our capacity on submissions.

When this happens, the system will send you an automated message
saying "sorry, we're closed." If you received a "closed" message,
you can resubmit your session the next day, or you can call the
Writing Center (215-204-0702) to find out about getting tutoring in person.

Please read carefully through the following terms and conditions for e-mail tutoring.
Violating these policies may result in suspension of e-mail tutoring privileges.

  1. Students are limited to 1 e-mail session per day, and 2 e-mail sessions per week (Sunday through Saturday).
  2. Students are limited to 10 e-mail sessions per semester.
  3. E-mail tutoring will respond to a pre-set number of sessions each day; once we have received more than our volume limit, we will no longer accept additional sessions on that day. Students who submit papers after the limit has been reached will receive an automated message to that effect.
  4. Students must use a Temple University e-mail address to receive feedback.
  5. If you are looking for feedback on organization, development, argument, clarity, or other global issues, be aware that tutors will respond to only seven total pages of text. If your paper is longer than seven pages, you can submit segments of the paper over several days, or you can submit the part of the paper that you have the most questions about.
  6. If you are looking for extensive feedback on grammar, be aware that tutors will respond to only three total pages of text. If your paper is longer than three pages, you can submit segments of the paper over several days, or you can submit the part of the paper that you have the most questions about.
  7. We cannot edit or proofread your paper for you. We can suggest directions, yet the real work has to be completed by you.
  8. Students may submit their own work ONLY. You cannot submit a paper on behalf of someone else.
