Temple Law Scholars Program
(Download a Program Brochure)
The Temple Law Scholars Program provides an opportunity for outstanding students to gain provisional admission to Temple University’s Beasley School of Law at the same time they are accepted into an undergraduate program of study. As Temple Law Scholars, students will spend their undergraduate years in Temple's Honors Program following the major of their choice, after which they will enroll in Temple’s Beasley School of Law, leading to the degree of Juris Doctor.
This highly selective program provides an enriched undergraduate experience that prepares students for the challenges of law school and legal careers. Students enrolled in the Temple Law Scholars program benefit from special opportunities, such as:
- participating as jurors or witnesses in the trial advocacy program at the Beasley School of Law
- legal internships in and around the Philadelphia area
- participating in the Mock Trial Team
- joining Phi Alpha Delta (the national student pre-law society) and the Pre-Law Society
- attending special lectures and events
- sitting in on law school classes
- being mentored by faculty and alumni lawyers

Two Options
The Law Scholars Program offers two options:
- 4/3 Option: Enriched Experience – This option allows the student to have a full undergraduate experience. Upon successful completion of four years in the Honors Program, the student receives a Bachelor's Degree in his or her chosen major(s) within the College of Liberal Arts, and the law degree is awarded after three years of law school.
- 3/3 Option: Accelerated Experience – This option is an accelerated version of the program which allows the student to begin study at the Beasley School of Law after three years of undergraduate work while enrolled in the Honors program. The student receives a Bachelor's Degree in his or her chosen major(s) within the College of Liberal Arts after completion of the first year of law school, and the law degree is awarded after three years of law school. This option is designed primarily for the older student with considerable life experience.
Students in either program option can request a one-year deferral between college and law school in order to gain relevant work experience.
