DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 27, 2006
WHAT: A 10 week summer field placement with the public service union – theAmerican Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees – to participate in a union organizing campaign in one of several locations across the U.S.
WHO: Sophomore (45+) or Junior college students of color, majoring inEconomics, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, History, Psychology, Ethnic Studies, Women's Studies, Labor Studies, American Studies with a minimum GPA of 2.5, an interest in working for social and economic justice through the labor movement, and a driver’s license.
SUPPORT: A stipend up to $4,000, housing, orientation and training at Harvard University, and an academic scholarship of up to $5,000 for the 2006-07 school year, based on successful performance.

NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES SUMMER INTERNSHIP
DEADLINE: January 6, 2006
WHAT: A ten-week summer internship in Washington, D.C. Interns will assist with daily work and with special projects and participate in the intellectual life of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
WHO: Undergraduates entering their junior or senior year in fall 2006, majoring or with a strong background in the humanities, including, but not limited to, the study of history; philosophy; languages; linguistics; literature; archaeology; jurisprudence; the history, theory, and criticism of the arts; ethics; comparative religion; and those aspects of the social sciences that employ historical and philosophical approaches. NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH (NIH) SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IN BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH
DEADLINE: March 1
WHAT: The Summer Internship Program (SIP) at the NIH provides an opportunity to spend the summer working side-by-side with some of the leading scientists in the world in an environment devoted exclusively to biomedical research. Students sixteen years of age or older who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and are currently enrolled at least half-time in high school or an accredited U.S. college or university are eligible to apply. Students who have been accepted into a college or university may also apply.
WHO: The Summer Internship Program is for students sixteen years of age or older who are currently enrolled at least half-time in high school or an accredited U.S. college or university. SUPREME COURT JUDICIAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
DEADLINES : June for fall internships;
October for spring internships;
March for summer internships.
WHAT: Unpaid internship working at the US Supreme Court available for fall, spring, or summer term. Interns work 8-hour days, 5 days a week performing routine office tasks, research, preparing correspondence, other work as assigned.
WHO: Undergraduates or graduating seniors with an outstanding undergraduate record, research experience, and course work in constitutional law or the Supreme Court.
SUPPORT: Students who successfully complete the internship and return to undergraduate program or enroll in graduate or professional degree program within one year of completing the internship may be eligible for a $1000 scholarship. Academic credit may be available.

The Battery, a 23-acre park located at the tip of Manhattan, is the largest public open space in Lower Manhattan. It is the gateway to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, welcoming over four million tourists and 60,000 daily commuters. Corporate Accountability International
Since 1977, Corporate Accountability International (formerly Infact) has been exposing life-threatening abuses by transnational corporations, organizing successful grassroots campaigns to hold corporations accountable to consumers and society at large. From the Nestlé Boycott of the 1970s and 80s over infant formula marketing, to the GE Boycott of the 1980s and 90s to curb nuclear weapons production and promotion, to today’s Boycott of Kraft (a subsidiary of tobacco giant Philip Morris), Infact organizes to win! Through our broad-based consumer campaigns and our Corporate Hall of Shame, we are building an active, aware public and a core of well-trained organizers who will lead the grassroots challenge to unwarranted corporate influence for years to come. Interns will work on a national and international level to involve Infact activists and the media in our campaigns. Responsibilities will include mobilizing Infact’s core of activists, responding to requests for information, working on design and layout of organizing materials, doing outreach to communities key to campaign expansion, preparing reports and letters to the editor, and performing overall administration of the media and campaign programs.

Drawing Center
The Drawing Center differentiates itself from other museums through its unique mission to demonstrate the significance and diversity of drawings throughout history and to provide opportunities and services for emerging artists. The Drawing Center has gained recognition locally and internationally for its one-of-a-kind contemporary and historical exhibitions of under-recognized artists and art forms. Each Intern will work primarily in a single department, such as curatorial, publications, or education, gaining important knowledge of museum practices and of how departments contribute to the organization’s mission. Everett Public Service Internship Program

Facing History and Ourselves
Facing History is a national organization that provides educators with services and resources for teaching students (grades 7-12) about prejudice, racism, and anti-Semitism, promoting the development of a more humane and informed citizenry. Students learn to make the essential connection between history and the moral choices they confront in their own lives. Harlem Children's Zone
The Harlem Children’s Zone is a community-based organization dedicated to reducing the problems of truancy, violence, foster care, pregnancy, poor school performance, and lack of self-esteem among high-risk New York City youth. The Harlem Children’s Zone has worked successfully in truancy reduction and pregnancy prevention. It is also the home of The Renaissance University for Community Education (TRUCE), an award-winning media literacy and arts education program for adolescents. Institute for Policy Studies
The Institute for Policy Studies is the nation’s oldest multi-issue progressive think tank. Since 1963, the Institute has worked with social movements to forge viable and sustainable policies to promote democracy, justice, human rights, and diversity. IPS played key roles in the Civil Rights and antiwar movements in the 1960s, the women’s and environmental movements in the 1970s, the apartheid and anti-intervention movements in the 1980s, and the fair trade and environmental justice movements today. The Center is a legal advocacy organization working to advance the rights of women, particularly the rights of low-income women and girls. Physicians for Social Responsibility
PSR offers internships for undergraduate and graduate students all year, with terms usually beginning in January, May, and September. Positions are 40 hours per week for a minimum of three months. Six-month to one-year internships are also available and are preferred by the Environment and Health program. Deadlines for applications are two months prior to the beginning of a term, but dates are flexible. All internships offer a stipend. PSR also accepts applications for unpaid internships.
