  • Students may recieve only one award in an academic year.
  • Students are eligible for only one funded grant per research project.
  • The maximum grant award is $2,000.  Requests may be modified as based on an assessment of budget proposal and/or the availability of resources.

In addition, there are specific guidelines for each grant area.

Research/Creative Project Grants:

  • Applicants must identify a faculty mentor.
  • The faculty mentor must provide a letter of support confirming the appropriateness of the research or creative project. The substance of this letter will be a significant element in the competitive award selection process.

  • Applications for salaries, stipends or the purchase of equipment will not be considered.
  • Proposal for research or creative projects must be submitted by one of the following deadlines during the 2008-09AY:  September 15, November 24, February 2, and April 13.  Applicants will be notified within fifteen (15) business days.

  • Applications must be submitted at least six (6) weeks prior to the travel date.  Applications submitted retroactively will not be considered.
  • Applications for travel grants can be submitted without notification of acceptance to present, but grant decisions will not be made until notification of acceptance to present has been provided.
