Undergraduate Teaching with Technology Fellows ProgramApplication Deadline for fall 2013 semester: May 30 The Undergraduate Teaching with Technology Fellows Program provides five upper division undergraduate students per semester with the opportunity to work closely with Temple faculty members, providing hands-on training in using instructional technology, recommendations for ways to incorporate technology into their teaching, and student perspectives on teaching with technology to engage students in learning. Undergraduate Technology Fellows’ work is guided by a Temple faculty member appointed as a Faculty Fellow who teaches concurrently a one-credit course emphasising the use of technology in teaching. The expected outcome of this academic program is that students will develop skills in instructional technology, work with a wide variety of faculty members across the university, and gain a deeper insight into the teaching role of university professors. This program is a collaboration between the Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies, the Teaching and Learning Center, and the Instructional Support Center. Eligibility• Current full-time matriculated undergraduates from all Temple schools and colleges• Minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA at the time of application • Have earned 60 credit hours by the end of the semester in which they are applying • Full-time enrollment during the program • Previous participation in a university peer teaching program will be considered a strength Program Requirements• Undergraduate Technology Fellows commit 12-15 hours per week during the semester to working with individual faculty members on projects to integrate technology into their courses• Attend weekly meetings with the Faculty Fellow • Attend monthly group meetings with the other Undergraduate Technology Fellows and the Faculty Fellow • Submit a mid-term assignment (2-3 pages) • Submit a final reflective essay at the end of the semester(8-10 pages) Stipends and Credit• Undergraduate Fellows receive a stipend of $2,250 for approx. 15 weeks• Undergraduate Fellows are also eligible for tuition remission for the one (1) credit hour Undergraduate Teaching in Higher Education course (credit that exceeds 17 s.h.)
