Using Gen Ed to ExploreTo earn a degree from Temple you need to complete three sets of requirements: your major, the school/college requirements in which your major is housed, and the University General Education requirements. Your Gen Ed requirements are one of the ways in which you will earn a well rounded University degree. Since Gen Ed courses are offered in almost every discipline on campus, these courses are a great way to explore the University while completing requirements. Gen Ed Website
Declaring a MajorYou are required to declare a major in a degree-granting program in a school or college by the time you have completed 60 credits (around the end of your sophomore year), including any credits transferred from another institution. Intra-University Transfer denotes a student's movement from one academic unit within the university to another and/or from one campus to another. Transfer between academic units is not automatic. In order to declare a major, you are required to attend an IUT session (some schools/colleges require a group session, others schedule individual appointments). You can sign up for a session by contacting the school/college in which you wish to declare you major. This can be completed at anytime except the months of January and August.
