Temple Spotlighted by NACADA
Division of University Studies Assistant Director Kristen DiNovi, Temple’s Academic Advisor of the year in 2005-2006, has won the 2007 Jeff Gardner Memorial Scholarship for Professional Development, sponsored by the National Academic ADvising Association (NACADA, Region Two). The award will enable Kristen’s participation in NACADA’s national advising institute in Vermont in June.
Other Notable Temple successes at NACADA include: the NACADA Region Two Outstanding Advising Award for Advising Administration for Stephanie Smith [Gillin] in 2006; the office of Chair of the Membership Committee (2006-2008) is held by Jermaine Williams; and an Outstanding New Advisor-Primary Role Certificate of Merit for Chuck Allen in 2005. Chuck is also a key contributor to NACADA’s Region Two leadership group (as the Eastern Pennsylvania liaison) and conference co-coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic Region Two Annual Conference in Virginia in March. Dr. Jayne Drake, Associate Dean in the College of Liberal Arts, is a member of the NACADA’s national Council and recently hosted a webcast (or “webinar”) on faculty advising.
