Transfer student admission guidelines

Did you know that almost half of incoming Temple students transfer from other colleges and universities? What makes you a transfer? You need to have attempted (or completed) 15 or more college-levels credits - after high school graduation - by the time you apply.

Our average GPA for transfer admission is 3.00 – Architecture, Nursing, Pharmacy and Film and Media Arts have higher GPA requirements.

For most programs, transfer students must complete the application process by June 1 for the Fall semester or by November 1 for the Spring semester. The Fall semester transfer application deadline for Music is March 1. The fall priority deadline for Nursing is February 15th.

We accept academic, college-level courses with a grade of C- or better, received from regionally accredited schools.  There is no limit to the number of credits we can accept, but you must complete at least 30 of your last 45 credits at Temple in order to receive a Temple degree.  Our Admissions Office informs students of the credits that are acceptable.  Each academic department determines how credits apply to the major.

You must request that all high schools and colleges which you previously attended send official transcripts to the Undergraduate Admissions Office at Temple University by these deadlines. SAT or ACT scores are not required if you have earned at least fifteen college-level credits.
