
We receive almost 20,000 freshman applications per year, but each one is carefully evaluated by our admissions committee. We consider everything you have done, but strong academics are the key. Below are guidelines; we use a sliding scale, rather than absolute cut-offs for GPA and test scores.

GPA: B average, 3.0 range in college-prep courses
Class Rank: Top 40%
SAT: Middle 50%- 500-600 on Critical Reading, Math and Writing

Merit Scholarships: Automatic consideration with application,
Scholarship criteria: Fall 2008 profile- 3.5 GPA, 1150+ SAT, 26 ACT, top 20% of the
class
Honors: Automatic consideration, Fall 2008 profile-1300+ SAT, 3.8 GPA,
top 10% of the class
Recommendations: Not required, but will be considered

Within 3-4 weeks of our receipt of your application, you will receive a mailing with instructions on how to set up your Accessnet username and password. Once you receive this, you can visit TUportal and activate your account. From there, you will be able to check your status online via our OWLnet system.
