Temple University residence halls, which
exist on the Main Campus, Ambler Campus,
and Tyler Campus, provide an opportunity
for students to extend their learning experiences
beyond the classroom, library, studio, and
laboratory. The Office of University Housing
attempts to create a group living environment
in which each student is offered an opportunity
to develop as an individual in an atmosphere
that encourages emotional and intellectual
growth.
Beech Hall is located on the Tyler School
of Art Campus. This residence hall, with
three adjoining wings, accommodates approximately
150 resident students. The lounge offers
a large screen television, table tennis,
football, air hockey, and a pool table for
recreational use by the residents. Amenities
include a laundry room, a fitness center,
and a computer lab, equipped with graphic
design software and a color printer. In addition,
each of the three wings has a common studio
available for residents. Rooms are assigned
as doubles and some triples, and the furnishings
include beds, built-in wardrobes, bookshelves,
drawing desks, and chairs.
The Hall has live-in staff members, consisting
of a full-time Resident Director and four
Resident Assistants (RAs). The Resident Director,
like the Resident Assistants, is here to
promote the academic success of our students.
