The MFA program in printmaking provides
a challenging, professionally directed curriculum
with classes that offer a broad range of
methods, approaches, and practical application
in the field of printmaking. In an intensive
environment, students are encouraged to develop
a personal vision and direction in their
work. MFA candidates have a separate, fully
equipped print studio in Blai Hall to which
they have 24-hour access. MFA printmaking
candidates have the option of spending up
to two semesters working in the print shops
at Temple University Rome. Graduate students
also have access to the undergraduate print
studios in Penrose Hall. The printmaking
area makes every effort to garner support
for their MFA students; most receive at least
one semester of total support (tuition remission
and stipend) as teaching or technical assistants
or receive university fellowships or project
completion grants.
