The Photography Area presents an ongoing
series of exhibitions by emerging and established
artists. As an MFA student, you will have
an opportunity to work with an internationally
selected group of graduate students representing
diverse imagemaking interests. Within the
MFA program, we encourage the development
of an intimate and productive working environment
utilizing a variety of photographic and digital
media resulting in an individual thesis exhibition.
Contemporary critical theory and historical
issues are also emphasized.
The Photography Area offers a variety of specialized workshops
focusing on current cultural and personal issues. The primary
objective of the program is to cultivate a blend of technical,
conceptual, and critical skills so that you can enter the field
as an artist on a professional level. The nationally recognized
faculty encourage a broad and innovative approach.
