As a first-year graduate student in the
Fibers Area, each student is encouraged to
experiment with the materials, techniques,
and concepts previously developed in their
work. Individual studios in a group space
are available to each student to pursue his
or her work in an intense, cooperative environment.
During both years of study, graduate students
research topics related to their specific
interests while actively working in their
studios. The faculty of the Fibers Area emphasizes
the creation of a new body of work to exhibit
as the completion of the MFA degree.
