Aritst Statement

I am interested in how meaning is made in our contemporary culture. By way of voices, sounds and text, my goal is to rupture one’s perception while increasing the desire to comprehend. The voices I employ are recorded and gathered from personal conversations. I see this as a way to speak through the other, where I aim to establish a familiar experience while also creating a sense of withholding. At times, words are dislocated where structures of meaning dissolve; content quickly falls away and utterances are heightened that can be easily misconstrued. The text creates new meaning, inferring how the semiotics of language is mediated through present-day forms of communication.
