“The absurdity of reality demands a form which dismantles the realistic facade” -Adorno
What is at the heart of my artistic practice? It is about understanding the world through actions and the creation of experience. More directly, I am trying to illuminate restrictions in the surrounding world. Restrictions appear everywhere, physical, mental, societal, and even personal. Most go unnoticed in day to day life, with the only way of access being through fantasy. The simple wish that one can transcend the world we live is a tremendous step beyond these boundaries. A personal utopia would develop as these boundaries change and disappear. Wanting to create this personal utopia is congruous with wanting to destroy part of the current world. Once change has been enacted there is no turning back.
