Aritst Statement
I am drawn to structure and the repetition of forms that create movement. The environment of the city has been a source of visual and sensory inspiration that informs my work. The interior and exterior of buildings, the layers of time, and the rhythm of the city influence my construction and use of materials. Using print and pattern, I create immersive patterned spaces, where a sense of expansion and compression causes tension that is reminiscent of what it feels like to be in the city surrounded by the diversity of surface and space that we consume visually and literally. Everyday materials become other worldly imaginings, beginning to form an escape into the evolution of structures both natural and man-made.
