Artist Statement
Rapid advances in technology, networked culture, and urbanism are altering our
social experiences, changing our relationship to native landscapes, and modifying
our approach to the built environment. My practice focuses on the blurred space
among established praxes in which new ways of seeing and experiencing cities and
landscapes are cultivated. Citing intersections of art, architecture and technology as
the loci of experimentation within the urban complex, I explore ideas centered on
perception and behavior. Objects and installations resulting from my investigations
are subtly informed by my ongoing research objectives. Each body of work is
precariously balanced, conceptually and aesthetically, on irrational perturbations
occurring during the formative process that open a dynamic space for oneiric
wanderings asperception.
