Nick Barbee Artist Statement The history of the horizon is a belief in progress. The history of the horizon is hope for the future. The old horizon has been crossed, and what once was a distant distinct line is now a fuzzy definition. It can no longer be seen, only calculated. Clouds and rainbows instead of space shuttles and star clusters are an act of disbelief in the horizon; it is an act of belief in hope even if it is an act of negation. I believe in hope, not nostalgia.
