Artist Statement

My work is creating a site of convergence between the past and the present, fiction and reality, drama and banality, the mental and the physical. Through absurd arrangements, I am exploring the positioning of photography inside and outside the frame. Playing with the shifting meaning of photographs based on their context and their content and offering room for new relationships and situations. While the images communicate a desire for glamour and romance, the objects position the desire within the everyday. With the lighting, the stage is set for the viewers to see each piece as a psychological tableau.
