Christopher T. Bowne ![]() Artist Statement Someone enters a room. What kind of room? A bar maybe? A saloon? Regardless, they enter. They commandeer the nearest individual, an unobtrusive drunk, by wrestling the drunk into an arm bar. The drunk screams, thinking its someone else. His thoughts are feverish. They finally caught up to me! The stranger stills the drunk by speaking into his (the drunk's) ear. The drunk stops screaming and listens. What is production? the voice in his ear asks. What does it mean to produce? The drunk is stunned. No one has ever asked him this before. In the context of engaging with contemporary artistic discourse, I see production as a form of reflexive research; of finding a place, a niche, where the produced and its history can stand and make some kind of sense.
