Mission Statement
Temple Gallery is now Temple Contemporary! Our new mission is to creatively
re-imagine the social function of art through questions of local relevance and
international significance. All of our programs are free and open to everyone.
We changed our name and mission to reflect our commitment and accountability
to the changing needs of our contemporary society. No longer constrained by
conventional “exhibition schedules,” Temple Contemporary participates in local,
national and global issues as they arise.
The issues Temple Contemporary addresses are raised by an advisory council of
internationally acclaimed scholars, local high school students, and community
leaders from across Philadelphia. For a detailed calendar of upcoming events click here.
Funding for Temple Contemporary comes from The Andy Warhol Foundation, The
Fels Foundation, The Barra Foundation, The Pennsylvania Humanities Council, The
Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Tyler School of Art and Temple University.
