HOUSING SUMMER 2013


 

Residential accommodations in the Philadelphia area are available through a private provider. Complete housing, meals, entertainment and supervisory services are provided. Students are housed on the University of Pennsylvania campus and bussed to the Tyler Campus each day.

Students who attended the Tyler Pre-College Workshops, Tyler Boot Camp and the Tyler Architecture Institute have had nothing be positive reports about this quality residential living experience.

 

PLEASE NOTE:
The housing registration deadline is June 1, 2013.

Below is a fairly comprehensive list of services:

  • Students are housed in the “Quad” at the University of Pennsylvania.
  • Air-conditioned rooms.
  • Meals while on campus.
  • Daily transportation to and from Temple University Main Campus.
  • Experienced Residential Director and Assistant Director to manage the residential and social life of the Program, assuring the students’ full integration into the community.
  • Staff of Residential Advisors, who live with, mentor and supervise the lives of the students.
  • Opportunity to live with and socialize with 250 other students participating in other programs that run concurrently in the dorms at Penn.
  • Complete evening programming; dances, movies, cultural outings, talent shows, skating, bowling etc and weekend programming; NYC, Washington, Ocean City, Baltimore Inner Harbor, Great Adventure, Hershey Park and others
  • Philadelphia immersion programs to introduce the city to the student.s
  • Full Insurance package to indemnify all JKCP activities.
  • Cancellation insurance is available for a fee of 5% of the housing cost.
  • Supervision of all Health Care needs.
  • Internet Access.
  • Departure and arrival transportation to and from Philadelphia International Airport or 30th Street Train Station for a fee of $30 each way.
  • Administration of any and all issues unrelated to the Tyler workshops.

The cost for the services listed above for a 2 week stay is is $1990. This fee reflects a two week stay with a Sunday arrival and Saturday departure.

These fees are reasonably inclusive and the students would have little out of pocket expenses.

The only items not covered would be meals when students are not on the Penn Campus- lunches during the week while attending classes at the Tyler Campus, lunch and dinner on the Saturday trips and possibly an evening meal. All other food, housing, entertainment, staffing, transportation, etc will be covered.

 

HOUSING REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

1. When you enroll in a Tyler Summer Workshops, please indicate if you will be seeking housing on the registration form.


2. Students must be paid in full for the Tyler Summer Workshops before housing reservations can be accepted.

3. We will notify Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs when Tyler registration is completed and someone will contact you to begin the ONLINE registration process.
