The lists below are for specific workshops generated by workshop instructor.
Tyler Pre-College Workshop does have supplemental supplies available.

ARCHITECTURE INSTITUTE

DRAWING

Below is a suggested list for Drawing classes.
An inexpensive paper portfolio is good for carrying work.

• Drawing pencils – 2B, 4B, 2H, B, 6B
• Charcoal pencils- 1 black and 1 white
• Chalk pastel (color)
• large kneaded erasers, white plastic erasers,
• a refillable eraser “stick” -it’s like a pen with eraser refills
• small, hand held pencil sharper
• Drawing Pad (no spiral bound) 18x24
• Conte – 2 packages sanguine (reddish brown) and sanguine medici (dark brown)
• 2 to 5 pieces of Canson paper/colored drawing paper
acceptable colors: tans or light browns, creams, light grey/blue

FIGURE DRAWING AND PAINTING

Note: The first class will be a drawing class so it’s not necessary to bring all of the listed supplies!

Drawing
• 18" x 24" or larger portfolio to carry your work- it can be large pieces of cardboard taped a long one long side
• 18" X 24" newsprint pad
• 18" X 24" drawing paper pad suitable for charcoal, pencil
• box of Vine Charcoal
• Choice of Conte crayon, compressed charcoal, carbon pencils
[optional = kneaded eraser, pencil sharpener, sketch book 9" x 12", chamois]

Painting
• 1-3 loose 18” X 24” sheets of better quality drawing paper (Canson, Strathmore, Arches, Utrecht)
• palette paper or glass or wood palette
• basic acrylic or oil paint set
• paint brushes- a selection of round, flat, bright, filbert (these do not need to be expensive)
• palette knife
• 3 pieces 18”x24” canvas board – ($2.15 at Dick Blick, $2.89 at Utrecht online)

PORTFOLIO PREPARATION

Below is a suggested list for the Portfolio Preparation classes.
An inexpensive paper portfolio is good for carrying work. Students are encouraged to bring their sketchbooks, drawing pad and paper in a portfolio to class every session.
