view themselves as teaching artists,
with a strong foundation in studio
and art history study along with
rigorous course work in pedagogy,
child development, and curriculum
to achieve a strong foundation for
art education practice. Tyler's
art education program is committed
to diversity and urban education
and all students complete at least
one field placement in an urban
school or community setting with
a diverse student population.
