Tyler Alumni And Friends
Dear Fellow Alumni:
Over the years, Tyler graduates have been honored with Fullbright, Guggenheim and Tiffany fellowships. They have been represented in collections at the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Biennial, the Philadelphia Museum of Art to the Vatican Museum. You should feel honored to be part of this distinguished group of graduates.
The Tyler Alumni Association was founded in 1946, and has nearly six thousand members. As a member of the Tyler Alumni Association, you are represented by a board of directors which works closely with the administrative staff of Tyler to help the school further its goals and maintain relationships with its graduates. With your dedication and support for Tyler, the Alumni Association can continue to create more opportunities for alumni engagement.
I enrolled at Tyler in 1978 as a ceramics/glass major. The vitality of these areas, facilities, energy, and the community they foster are "magnetic." While at Tyler, I learned the value of art history, research, technical skills, and critical evaluation. I use these skills on a daily basis in my studio work and in my teaching. Currently, I am a studio artist, where I use both glass and metal in my work and I teach my craft at area art centers to adults, teens, and youth at risk.
I encourage you to come back and visit Tyler, especially in this time of educational advancement as we plan ahead for our re-location to the main campus. I know you will find yourself inspired and proud to be a graduate of Tyler.
Regards,

Patti Dougherty
President, Tyler School of Art Alumni Association
