Tyler's studios are always teeming with activity and excitement. You'll find dedicated students working day and night on their projects and research, sharing ideas and inspiration.
In January 2009, Tyler opened the doors on a new 255,000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility. Designed by world-renowned architect Carlos Jimenez, the new facility includes instructional and creative studios, galleries, workshops, exhibition space and administrative and faculty offices.
This new building boasts the most advanced visual arts facilities in the region and functions as a world-class exhibition space and educational tool. The building also includes spaces for innovative large-scale and installation pieces, a central media output center, shared computer labs, computer-integrated classroom spaces and comfortable and accessible cafes and lounges.
In addition, the courtyard provides the largest green space on Temple University's Main Campus. Additional studios for Architecture are found nearby in the Engineering/Architecture Building, and for Art & Art Education in Anderson and Ritter Halls.
The close proximity of all of Tyler's programs enhances the educational experience for Tyler's distinguished students, each one poised to make a significant contribution to an increasingly interdisciplinary and multimedia culture in the 21st century.
