We are also offering an unprecedented array of seminars on entrepreneurship.

Offering year-round training on a wide range of practical topics, The Business Agenda curriculum has been carefully designed to meet the ongoing education needs of today's business community. Many Business Agenda seminars are eligible for ACT 48 credits.



Program Descriptions

Professional Communications - Our focused seminars are designed to give you the tools you'll need to communicate with maximum impact and clarity. Courses in interpersonal communication, presentation skills, written communication and related software such as Microsoft Word, Publisher, and Outlook.

Computer Technology – Concise courses that give students a greater understanding of computing hardware and software as well as courses teaching the most popular Microsoft programs. We don't just teach you the software, we teach you how to use the software to do your job successfully.

Database Management and Design – Use Microsoft Access and SQL Querying language to create and maintain databases. Learn to organize and manipulate data effectively and efficiently.

Editing – Become proficient at proofreading and copy editing through instruction and practice. Use that knowledge to enhance your current position or explore professional opportunities in the field.

Entrepreneurship – If you have a small business currently, are looking for a new career, or want to earn extra money on the side doing something you love, our entrepreneurship classes teach students how to start up their dreams and keep them successfully running.

Financial and Project Management – Classes designed to enhance your ability to work with numbers and to manage projects coupled with software courses covering spreadsheets and accounting functions.

Interior Design – Explore the fundamentals of interior design and learn to combine color, fabrics, furniture and lighting to design great spaces. Ideal courses for homeowners or those contemplating the field professionally.

Management and Leadership - Whether you work with people, numbers, or projects, our Management and Leadership seminars will help you keep your organization out in front.

Professional Meeting Planning - Designed to meet the growing demand for professionally trained meeting planners, this certificate program is endorsed by the region's chapter of Meeting Professionals International.

Web Site Design – Create web pages for your business or your personal life. Courses are offered in the HTML programming language, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Adobe Photoshop.

Certificate in Database Management and Design

Using Microsoft Access and SQL statements, learn to effectively and efficiently work with data while eliminating the confusion that can lead to down time and lost data. REQUIRED COURSES: Introduction to Microsoft Access; Beyond the Basics: Microsoft Access; Advanced Microsoft Access; Relational Database Design; Introduction to SQL: Fundamentals of Querying.

Certificate in Editing

This program is designed to develop competency in proofreading and editing. Enhance your skills for your current position or explore the field of editing as a possible career choice. REQUIRED COURSES: Proofread Like a Pro; Fundamentals of Editing; Master Editing Workshop.

Certificate in Interior Design

Ideal for homeowners who want to make quality interior design decisions and those contemplating entering the field professionally. REQUIRED COURSES: Fundamentals of Design and Layout; The Effective Use of Color; Fabrics and Materials; Furniture; Lighting and Accessories.

Certificate In Professional Meeting Planning

(Offered in Spring and Fall semesters)

This certificate program prepares students to meet the growing national demand for professionally trained meeting planners. Whether you intend to make a career change or currently work for an organization in which your responsibilities include meeting or conference planning, the Meeting Planning Certificate is a valuable career resource. Courses are taught by professionals from the Delaware Valley. The certificate is endorsed by the Philadelphia Area Chapter of Meeting Professionals International. Coursework can be completed in one semester or within two years. Preference is given to those who register for the program in one semester - plus they receive a 20% discount off the class price. REQUIRED COURSES: Fundamentals of Meeting Planning; Site Inspection and Selection; Budget and Finance for Meeting Planners; Meeting Room Setups and Audiovisuals; Food and Beverage; Negotiations and Contracts.

Certificate in Professional Presentations

Giving high quality presentations is not something that one is born with; it’s a learned art. This certificate program covers all you need to know to confidently prepare and give clear, thoughtful, and well-documented presentations for groups from five to 500. REQUIRED COURSES: Speaking With Confidence; Microsoft PowerPoint: Level I; Powerful Presentations with PowerPoint.

Supervisors Toolkit Certificate Program

A collection of our seminars designed to enhance the capacity of supervisors at any level. Master essential communications, management, and leadership skills, and learn to put them all together to best fulfill your organization’s goals and your own potential. REQUIRED COURSES: Superb Supervision; Speaking with Confidence: Presentation Skills; What’s Your Point?: Effective Interpersonal Communication; Clear and Effective Writing.

Certificate in Web Site Design

Find out what it takes to make your web site stand out from the rest. Build a web site with HTML, make it visually engaging with Dreamweaver, and manipulate photo elements using Photoshop. REQUIRED COURSES: Introduction to Web Site Design: HTML; Introduction to Adobe Photoshop 7; Adobe Photoshop 7: Web Production; Dreamweaver MX Level I; Dreamweaver MX Level II; Build Your Web Site: Putting It All Together.

Certificate Program Information

Students registering for the entire certificate program at one time receive a 10 percent discount and registration priority. Courses may be taken individually, however, as space permits. To earn the certificate, courses must be taken within two years from the start of the first class.
