FACULTY CENTER

Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

The Faculty Center consists of eleven semi-private workstations. Each workstation has a computer with internet access and is networked to a local printer. Each workstation also has a telephone that you can use to call Temple University departments or to make local calls (dial 9 then 1 followed by the area code and phone number). In order to use the Faculty Center you must reserve a workstation for a specific block(s) of time each semester that you are teaching at TUCC. You will then be assigned a workstation and a password for the computer. To reserve a workstation simply go to Computer and Media Services in room 404 and submit your request or complete the Faculty Center Workstation Request Form online. Please note that use of the faculty center is restricted to instructors teaching credit courses, and that students must be accompanied by their instructor to enter the faculty center.

Computer and Media Services offers a wide range of audio/visual equipment to faculty members teaching at TUCC. It is also possible to reserve PC or MAC labs. Labs and equipment can be reserved for specific dates or an entire semester. To make a reservation you must complete a Computer and Media Equipment Request Form and submit it to Computer and Media Services at least two weeks prior to the date you will require the equipment.

LIBRARY RESERVES AT TUCC

Faculty members can order books and hard copies of articles from the Paley Library on the main campus and have them sent to TUCC. To take advantage of this service you must contact the Paley Library reserve section at 215-204-0747 with details. Be sure to indicate that you want the books or articles sent to TUCC. These materials will be placed on reserve in room 404 under the faculty member’s last name. To borrow these materials students must leave their Temple ID card. Materials can be borrowed for up to two hours. All materials must be returned prior to closing. Faculty members who wish to place their private collection materials on reserve at TUCC must bring those materials to room 404 and complete a reserve form. Reserve materials are held for only one week after semester ends.

PHOTOCOPY MACHINE

Room 211
M – F, 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

A photocopy machine for faculty use is located in room 211. You must have a copy center code to use the machine. You can request a copy center code at the reception desk in the campus administration office (suite 215). Please note that your department will be charged for photocopies you make. Be sure to obtain the approval of your department chairperson or administrator before requesting a copy center code.

COURSE AND TEACHING EVALUATIONS

Course and teaching evaluation packets are distributed and collected by the receptionist in the campus administration office (suite 215) on the following schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

When the campus administration office is closed you can drop off completed evaluation packets at the security desk in the ground floor lobby area.

PARKING

As a service to our faculty, TUCC has negotiated a discounted parking rate with Central Parking at two of its locations. TUCC has no affiliation with Central Parking nor plays any role in making its policies. In order to get the discount, you must have your parking ticket validated and show proof of Temple affiliation if asked. The parking validation is available at the security desk in the ground floor lobby area at TUCC during the following hours:
M – Th, 8:30 AM – 10:30 PM
F, 8:30 AM – 9:00 PM
Saturday, 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Central Parking

  • DAYS: M - F, $11.00 enter before 3:00 PM (up to 10 hours).
  • EVENINGS: M – F, $5.00 enter after 3:00 PM

CAFÉ AND LOUNGES

Lounge and café areas are located on all floors. Ethernet connections around the perimeter of these areas allow you to connect your laptop to the Internet. Please note that you must first register the machine address code (MAC) of your laptop with Computer and Media Services before you can take advantage of this service. Registration forms are available in Room 404. Call 215-204-1521 for more information.

COFFEE AND REFRESHMENTS

M – Th, 3:30 – 8:00 PM
A snack bar located in the lounge area on the 6th floor offers fresh-brewed coffee, soft drinks,
sandwiches, salads, and a variety of light foods and snacks.

VENDING MACHINES

Vending machines are located in the lounge area on the 2nd floor and in the café areas on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th floors. Call 215-204-7271 if there is a problem with the machine.
