About Us

The Students of Temple University of the Commonwealth System of Higher Education, have joined together in a common union and a common bond to promote our ideas, interests and concerns through a method of self-governance. We have affirmed and recognized that we have a responsibility to ourselves, to our university, to our community, to our state, and to our nation to act in a responsible manner when exercising self-governance and promoting our interests within our society.

Temple Student Government (TSG) is an umbrella organization for all students, including those at the graduate and undergraduate level. The General Assembly (GA) is used as a forum to pass legislative bills and allow students to voice their concerns about any issue. Because TSG represents the voice of all students, it is important that students use TSG as a tool to positively impact life at the University.

Temple Student Government is also an organization that actively recruits student leaders. Student leaders are an essential component in the operation of the government. TSG provides leadership opportunities for those looking to get involved regardless of their experience level. Although involvement in TSG provides great professional experience that will enhance the value of a resume, TSG leaders are primarily concerned with serious issues that are often overlooked due to apathy and other reasons.
