Building Supports: What to Do While You Wait

We live in a rapidly changing world with tight budgets and shrinking resources. There are long waiting lists for paid services through the Intellectual Disability system, but our families need help now.

In this workshop for family members, we will:

  • Consider what your family needs right now to have a better Everyday Life
  • Brainstorm together about how, where and who in our networks and communities can help while we wait for paid support
  • Learn about Circles of Support and approaches to building natural support
  • Begin developing a plan for finding the help we need

About Partnership Trainings

Each FREE training module is generally two hours in length. Resource materials are provided to each family free of charge, and all participants receive handouts and a certificate of completion for each presentation. We offer Act 48 credits and some reimbursement, such as mileage and child care to families upon request. All Partnership curricula are available in alternate formats upon request. Request for alternate formats should be made two weeks before the scheduled training.
