What is a Mental Retardation Waiver and How Do I Get One?

This training offers an overview of the waiver and is designed for people who have not applied for the waiver or have applied and are not yet receiving waiver services. Discussions during the session include a brief history; a description of waivers and why they are important; who is eligible and how to apply; how to think about improving your family member’s quality of life; how your Individual Support Plan (ISP) relates to waiver services; and your rights in the process of applying, including your right to disagree.
