This presentation includes information about employment, lifesharing, rate setting, billing practices, and waiver allocations. Employment for individuals with disabilities is a priority in the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP). We will describe current services and supports available through the waivers, ODP's employment initiative, and the employment pilot program for young adults. ODP also has a Lifesharing initiative designed to offer an alternative to group homes for people who need residential services. We describe how Lifesharing works so families can decide if this model of support is right for their family member with a disability. Finally, this presentation covers recent changes in billing, rate setting and waiver allocations. You will learn about the impact of these new ODP business practices on waiver enrollment and how waiver services are paid for through ODP. (2 hours)
Each FREE training module is two hours in length (unless otherwise noted). Resource materials are provided to each family free of charge, and all participants receive handouts and a certificate of completion for each presentation. We offer Act 48 credits and some reimbursement, such as mileage and child care to families upon request. All Partnership curricula are available in alternate formats upon request. Request for alternate formats should be made two weeks before the scheduled training.
