How Do I Choose a Provider for the Supports I Need?
This training is designed to help people who receive services through the Mental Retardation system choose the provider(s) that best matches their needs and priorities. This interactive session explores your rights in selecting a provider, different models of support, resources for locating providers and tips for gauging quality and decision-making. This program relies on exercises to help you identify and use your individual priorities to guide you when interviewing potential providers. (3 hours)
About Partnership Trainings
Each FREE training module is two hours in length (unless otherwise noted). Resource materials are provided to each family free of charge, and all participants receive handouts and a certificate of completion for each presentation. We offer Act 48 credits and some reimbursement, such as mileage and child care to families upon request. All Partnership curricula are available in alternate formats upon request. Request for alternate formats should be made two weeks before the scheduled training.
