The Many Faces of Abuse

People with disabilities are often targets of abuse. Abuse can take many forms: physical, emotional, financial, sexual. The goal of this two-part training is to reduce the risk of abuse in the lives of people with disabilities.Learn:

  • Awareness of the many types of abuse
  • To recognize the warning signs of abuse
  • How to teach a family member ways to increase safety
  • How to support someone who has been abused

Every participant will leave with at least 3 concrete safety strategies!

About Partnership Trainings

Each FREE training module is generally two hours in length. Resource materials are provided to each family free of charge, and all participants receive handouts and a certificate of completion for each presentation. We offer Act 48 credits and some reimbursement, such as mileage and child care to families upon request. All Partnership curricula are available in alternate formats upon request. Request for alternate formats should be made two weeks before the scheduled training.
