Vulnerable populations, such as children, the elderly and people with disabilities are disproportionately targets of abuse. Physical abuse. Emotional abuse. Financial abuse. Sexual abuse. This two-part training for family members will discuss the different types of abuse and warning signs. The goal of the training is to reduce the risk of abuse, any type of abuse, in the lives of people with disabilities. This interactive training will build awareness of the many faces of abuse, how to recognize abuse, and how to support someone who has been abused. (all day session)
Each FREE training module is two hours in length (unless otherwise noted). Resource materials are provided to each family free of charge, and all participants receive handouts and a certificate of completion for each presentation. We offer Act 48 credits and some reimbursement, such as mileage and child care to families upon request. All Partnership curricula are available in alternate formats upon request. Request for alternate formats should be made two weeks before the scheduled training.
