MFA Program

 

The Professional Training Program in Theater at Temple University, which awards the Master of Fine Arts (MFA), has distinguished itself as one of the foremost theater training and performance institutions in the nation, and as an important contributor to the Philadelphia theater landscape. Through this production program, MFA actors, designers and technicians collaborate with professional faculty, staff and guest artists to bring exciting, contemporary theater to a diverse audience. Temple Theaters has been noted for premiering many new works for Philadelphians as well as producing vital stagings of classic works. Our alumni have found successful employment as actors, designers and technicians at theaters across the country and around the world including Broadway, Off-Broadway, The Kennedy Center, The Mark Taper Forum, Circle-in-the-Square, The Guthrie Theater, New York Shakespeare, Lincoln Center, Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Yale Repertory Theatre to name only a few.

PLEASE NOTE: Applications for the DIRECTING and ACTING Programs are NOW being accepted for Fall 2012 entrance into the program.

Admission to all of our graduate programs is by audition or portfolio review. If you are currently attending an U/RTA member school, please request information on the U/RTA audition/ portfolio review process from a faculty member or contact Scott Steele at URTA@aol.com.
