Temple’s Time Out Respite Program is looking for families that need help caring for elderly relatives in Philadelphia. Time Out provides college students who are trained to assist families and their caregivers. Through Time Out, families will receive care from the same student for at least 14 weeks at a cost of $7 per hour. Bilingual students are also available to assist Latino families and their caregivers. For more information, call Susan Smith at 204-6540.

Scholarship award increased for students with disabilities

Disability Resources and Services received a $38,000 grant from the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation last month to continue the Newcombe Scholarships for Students with Disabilities in the 2004-05 academic year. This year’s grant increased by $5,000 compared to last year’s. The grant recognizes the supportive services Temple provides for students with disabilities and is designed to mitigate some of these students’ unmet financial needs.
