Ambler
joins statewide recycling contest

Each
Pennsylvanian generates five pounds of trash every day, according
to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Much of that
trash, however, can be recycled, saving natural resources, reducing
pollution and avoiding the unnecessary use of landfills.
In
an effort to increase the amount of recyclable material collected
in Pennsylvania, Temple University Ambler has joined the DEPs
first Rush to Recycle Challenge.

Deputy Secretary Eric Thumma and the DEPs Pennsylvania
Recycling Team visited Ambler earlier this month to kick off
the challenge, which will run through November 30.
Rush
to Recycle is a challenge to Pennsylvania universities to practice
