Amy J. Goldberg, M.D., named a 2006 Woman of Distinction


The Philadelphia Business Journal has named Amy J. Goldberg, M.D., chief of trauma surgery and surgical critical care at Temple University Hospital and professor of surgery at the School of Medicine, a 2006 Woman of Distinction.


The award, sponsored by the Business Journal and the National Association of Women Business Owners, went to 25 of the region's most dynamic women who are making headlines in their professional fields and in their communities.


After graduating from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, performing a residency in surgery at Temple University Hospital and a fellowship in traumatology and critical care at the University of Maryland, Goldberg returned to Temple in 1993.

She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and was inducted as a charter member of the Academy of Distinguished Educators in Medicine in 2004.
