To the University Community
The Peer International Educators of Office of International Services have planned a special event for the Thanksgiving holiday (Thursday, November 25, 2004). If you have not already decided with whom you will be spending those holidays, why not consider sharing dinner with an international student? Many new international students joined our University this semester, and most of them cannot return home for the holidays. They have traveled great distances to join our community, and this would be one of their first opportunities to celebrate a holiday with an American family.
If you would like to host a student for the Thanksgiving dinner, the Peer Educators will match international students with your family. Both students and host families will be notified promptly of an appropriate match so they can discuss plans for gathering and transportation arrangements.
Remember that the holidays in the United States provide an opportunity for sharing. So, please, open your hearts and homes to the international students of Temple, and help them experience this great aspect of American culture.
If you are interested, please fill out the information form clearly and fax it to the Office of International Services at FAX (215) 204-6166 by or before Friday, November 19. You may also contact us by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by telephone at Phone (215) 204-4683 (Monday noon – 5 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., and Friday noon – 2 p.m.)
We greatly appreciate your attention.
