Englert announces 2006-07 faculty merit pay awards

Interim Provost Richard M. Englert has announced that 464 faculty members across 13 schools and colleges represented by Temple Association of University Professionals (TAUP) have been awarded merit salary increases for their outstanding performance and achievements in their respective fields during the 2005-06 academic year.

“Temple University has an outstanding faculty, and the annual merit process is an opportunity for us to recognize that excellence,” Englert said.

“The advisory committees within the schools and colleges have done a superb job making recommendations through an extensive and rigorous review process.”

This year, merit will be distributed earlier than in prior years.

Merit increases will be reflected in the May 31, 2007, paychecks and will be retroactive to January 2007.

Merit pay also will be awarded to librarians and academic professionals.
