Nominations sought for alumni awards
Two of the General Alumni Association’s most visible awards, the Russell H. Conwell Award and the Alumni Distinguished Service Award, are presented annually at its Founder’s celebration, scheduled this year for Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations and Executive Director of the General Alumni Association Deborah W. Fowlkes invites nominations from the University community for these two awards.
The Russell H. Conwell Award recognizes non-alumni individuals and groups for outstanding service to the University community. Past recipients whose contributions and commitment to the University have been exemplary include trustees, former Temple presidents and administrators, corporations and organizations, major philanthropists, and Temple constituent groups.
The General Alumni Association’s highest alumni award, the Alumni Distinguished Service Award, recognizes alumni who have demonstrated loyalty and commitment to Temple University through their service and contributions to the University community and/or have brought great honor to the University through their professional accomplishments.
The criteria for the awards are intentionally flexible, allowing nominations for the wide variety of Temple benefactors. Each nomination must include a letter of recommendation highlighting the nominee’s contributions to Temple and an awardee biography.
Please forward these items to the Founder’s Evening Awards Committee, c/o the Alumni Center, no later than Dec. 2.
