SUBJECT:            Use of Bell Garage For Guaranteed Access Parking On Commencement Day (5/19/05)

Use of Parking Area #4 For Debit Card Parking On Commencement Day (5/19/05)

As part of the University's Parking Plan for Commencement Day, Thursday, May 19, 2005, Parking Area #1, #2, #3,  and Area #9 will not be available for any type of employee parking.

Guaranteed access parkers who park in any of the above parking areas have been assigned to the Bell Garage on this day, where their "GREEN" decals and ID cards will be honored, without charge.

Debit Card parkers who normally park in either Area #1, #2 or #9 have been assigned to Parking Area #4 on this day, where employee debit card and cash parking will be accepted.

Additionally, we will be expanding the intra-campus shuttle bus system on this day and we encourage that parkers/pedestrians take full advantage of this free service. For those who will be parking at the Bell Garage(entrance on 11th Street, just north of Montgomery Avenue), a convenient shuttle bus stop is located on Montgomery Avenue, between 11th & 12th Streets. For those who will be parking at Area #4 (entrance on Diamond Street, between 13th & 12th Streets), a convenient shuttle bus stop is located at  Area #4's 12th & Norris Street pedestrian exit. Passengers may board the bus at these locations, and everyone will be dropped off at convenient shuttle bus stops, which are in very close proximity to your work locations (see map on reverse side of this letter for all shuttle bus stops). The shuttle buses will operate from 6:30AM - 9:30PM on this day.

Upon returning to either the Bell Garage or Area #4, parkers may board the bus at any of the  convenient shuttle bus stops, and they will be dropped off at the respective parking area pedestrian gates. At this time also, the pedestrian door to the Bell Garage, which is located on Montgomery Avenue, just east of the Campus Safety Office entrance, will be opened to provide easy access back to the garage. Securitas, Inc. Security personnel will be on duty in the garage and at Area #4 until 11 PM for your convenience.

On May 20th, you may resume parking in your assigned parking area.

We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank you for your cooperation and for making Commencement Day most convenient for our students who comprise the Graduating Class of 2005, including their families.
