Awards&Achievements

Margaret M. Foley, assistant professor of health information management, received the 2005 PHIMA Distinguished Member Award in recognition of her service and contributions to the HIM profession at the Pennsylvania Health Information Management Association's (PHIMA) Conference at State College.

The College of Physicians has awarded Paul E. Lyons the 2005 College of Physicians of Philadelphia's Exemplar of Humanism in Medicine Award. Lyons was nominated for the award by the School of Medicine's Class of 2005. He is associate professor of family medicine and associate chair for clinical education in the family and community medicine department.

Bryan Sparks has been named district manager at Temple University by Sodexho USA.  Sparks will have overall responsibility for the management team directing Sodexho's food management operations at Temple. Sparks began his food service career in 1990, holding various positions including dining center manager, food service director and general manager.  Prior to assuming his new duties, Sparks served as a district manager in northeastern Ohio. Sparks holds a bachelor’s degree in food service management and a master’s degree in hospitality administration from Johnson and Wales University.
