School of Dentistry launches Distinguished Speakers Series

Myron Nevins
Periodontist Myron Nevins, a clinical professor of periodontology and an alumnus of the School of Dentistry, delivered the inaugural lecture in the newly established Dr. Leonard Abrams Distinguished Speakers Series in late April. The lecture series has been endowed by the Tuttleman Family Foundation.

At the School of Dentistry, renowned periodontist Myron Nevins delivered the inaugural lecture, “A Clinical Decision: Save the Tooth or Place a Dental Implant,” in the newly established Dr. Leonard Abrams Distinguished Speakers Series. The Tuttleman Family Foundation has endowed the series, which will enable the school to offer six continuing education programs each year, featuring accomplished experts in periodontology and oral implantology.

Nevins, a clinical professor of periodontology and an alumnus of the School of Dentistry, directs The Institute for Advanced Dental Studies in Boston and serves as editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry.

The late Leonard Abrams, also an alumnus, had a private practice in Philadelphia and was internationally respected for his research, writings and lectures in periodontology and prosthodontics.
